"Freya and I had such a great experience working with Arielle, a dog trainer at Petco! Arielle is incredibly fun, engaging, and truly knowledgeable. She has a natural way of connecting with both dogs and their owners, making each session enjoyable and easy to follow. Her explanations were clear, her energy kept the dogs motivated, and she always took the time to answer questions and offer helpful tips tailored to our dog’s needs. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs and loves what she does. Highly recommend Arielle to anyone looking for a positive, effective, and confidence-boosting training experience!"

"This Petco location offers a wide variety of food, toys, and supplies for all types of pets. While I did not find the Blue Buffalo soft cat treat variety I was looking for, I was able to purchase quite a few other items like catnip toys that my older cat likes to play with. The staff is quite knowledgeable of the location of pet items, and the checkout staff is very pleasant, making the shopping experience very good indeed. I am happy to see that this location also has a pet clinic attached to the store. One suggestion however would make that new addition even better. Add an external entrance available, or a way to access the vet services easily when the rest of the store is closed due to Bergen County blue laws with at least one Vet on duty for emergencies."

"We had our cat Uzzy Can neutered at this veterinary clinic and we are extremely satisfied with the entire experience. From the very beginning, the staff was very kind, professional, and attentive. Especially Arsen, who took care of us, was incredibly helpful, patient, and caring throughout the whole process. They explained everything clearly before the surgery, answered all of our questions, and made us feel very comfortable. Their care continued even after the operation — they called us the next day to check on Uzzy Can, which truly meant a lot to us and showed how much they genuinely care about their patients. It is obvious that this clinic truly loves animals and takes their responsibility seriously. We felt that Uzzy Can was in very safe hands. We sincerely thank the entire team, especially Arsen, and highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate veterinarian. 🐾💙"

"My experience at this location involved two concerns regarding veterinary care and billing. The first issue involved my dog developing a limp in her front right paw. The first veterinarian, who I believe was named Jennifer, recommended multiple X-rays to determine the cause. The X-rays cost approximately $900, but no definitive diagnosis was provided. Later, a second veterinarian, a male doctor whose name I cannot recall, examined her without requiring additional X-rays. He diagnosed the condition as growing pains, explained that she would likely outgrow it, administered a shot and prescribed medication, and the issue was resolved. The second issue occurred when I brought my dog in to be spayed. The surgery itself went well, and I have no concerns regarding that procedure. However, I specifically requested that all charges be combined into one bill because I was using CareCredit and wanted everything processed together. I also asked that all vaccines and services needed to bring my dog up to date be included. I was informed that some charges could not be combined with the spay bill, which I accepted. I then paid a second bill for the vaccines and other services and specifically asked whether that would be the final bill. I was told that it would be. During the visit, I was encouraged to purchase an additional vaccine that my dog had not previously received. I initially declined several times but ultimately agreed. I again stated that I wanted all charges included in the bill I was paying that day so that all expected costs would be addressed at that time. Subsequently, I received an additional bill for the booster shot associated with that vaccine I didn’t want her to get the first time I said no. This occurred after I had repeatedly communicated my preference to have all anticipated costs disclosed and included in advance. Based on this experience, I recommend documenting conversations and requesting detailed explanations of any future charges. I do not plan to return to this location. I chose the Hackensack location instead of the Totowa location because appointments at Totowa were often unavailable. In retrospect, I would have preferred to wait for an appointment there. "Is this a place where children are not allowed? My five-year-old daughter was simply walking by when a metal piece attached to one of the fish tanks suddenly fell toward her. Thankfully, she was not hurt, and I did not even make an issue out of it. What shocked me was the employee’s reaction. Instead of apologizing or checking if my child was okay, he aggressively came over and angrily shoved the metal piece aside as if we were the problem. Later, while my husband and I were looking at water filters, my children were quietly choosing tank decorations nearby. I was already paying attention to this employee because of his earlier behavior, and I watched him repeatedly stare at my children with absolute disgust and contempt — honestly, as if they were insects bothering him. At one point he turned around muttering under his breath, then avoided eye contact when I looked back at him. When I finally asked if there was a problem, he falsely claimed that my children had been “dropping metal pieces” and “ruining the display.” That is completely untrue. I was watching the entire time. Then he said customers should not touch the displays. Excuse me? In what world are customers shopping for aquarium accessories without touching or looking at the products? When I asked him to check the CCTV footage and requested a manager, he claimed he was the manager. Then another woman named Amanda came over and also claimed to be the manager, but instead of listening objectively, she immediately took the same dismissive attitude. What stays with me most is not even the poor customer service — it is the way that man looked at very young children with such visible contempt. It was genuinely disturbing."
